Ballet 3-6 Extension
A formal extension of the LoMastro ballet curriculum levels 3–6. During these classes, students refine their skills in preparation for the proficiency assessment, which offers the opportunity to demonstrate technical ability and understanding of the material based on the Cecchetti Method of training. The assessment takes place during the final class of the session. Students who successfully complete it are awarded a certificate at the corresponding level and recognized on stage at our annual recital.
Repertoire Courses
Advanced dancers (Level 7–8, LCP) are eligible for Repertoire courses. In these classes, dancers learn variations from well-known classical ballets and participate in repertoire development exercises to further strengthen technique and artistry. An in-studio performance on the final day allows dancers to showcase their progress. Students are awarded a certificate at the corresponding level and recognized on stage at our annual recital. Select dancers may be invited to continue refining a variation for performance or competition.
Proficiency Assessment & Recognition
At the conclusion of each Ballet Honors session, dancers participate in a formal Proficiency Assessment during the final scheduled class.
During this assessment, students demonstrate the technique, vocabulary, and artistry developed throughout the session. Distinction levels are awarded based on demonstrated proficiency.
Only dancers who are present for the final scheduled class:
-
Receive a distinction level (Distinction, Pass Commended, Pass, etc.)
-
Receive a rose in recognition of completing the formal assessment
To maintain fairness and consistency for all students, alternate or private assessments are not offered.
How is the assessment scored?
The proficiency assessment is designed to measure knowledge, skill, aptitude, physical fitness, and classification.
There are five levels:
-
Distinction: 100–85
-
Pass Commended: 84–68
-
Pass: 67–52
-
Conditional Pass: 51–36
-
Standard Not Met: 35 and below
Certificates are awarded to students earning Distinction, Pass Commended, Pass, or Conditional Pass. These students are also recognized at recital.

Recital Recognition
Dancers who complete the Ballet Honors session within the attendance policy are recognized on stage at recital for their commitment to advanced training. The distinction level and rose are reserved for dancers who complete the formal Proficiency Assessment.
Attendance Policy
Ballet Honors allows up to two absences per 8-week session.
Dancers who exceed two absences are not eligible for Ballet Honors recital recognition for that session.
The final class includes the formal Proficiency Assessment and is strongly encouraged for all Honors students.
