Tuition is payable in advance and must accompany the registration form. A payment plan is available; please inquire if you are interested. Returned Checks are subject to a $30 fee. Tuition is non-refundable after the date listed on the registration form and a $50 service fee will be charged for each class refunded before said deadline. A credit of tuition for medical reasons will be considered only when accompanied by a letter from a physician. If LPAA cancels a class due to low enrollment a refund will be granted.

Attendance Consistent attendance is imperative to the successful training of all students. Students may miss only if she/he has a valid excuse. Excused absences include illness, mandatory school function, religious holidays, bereavement and 1 vacation day per semester/session. All absences must be reported to the school office prior to the absence. Students exceeding 3 absences per semester/session may be asked to withdraw from the program and/or recital without refund.

Make-up Classes Missed classes may be made up in a class at the same level or lower, in the same discipline. Classes not made up within one month of the absence will be forfeited. Students must sign the make-up log at the desk.

Tardiness Classes begin on time. Late admittance to a class is at the teachers' discretion. For their safety, your child will not be able to participate in class if they arrive more than 15 minutes late. They will however be able to observe the class. THIS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED. Tardy students are asked to enter the studio when the music is not playing (between exercises).

Dress Code All students are expected to adhere to the dress code. Female students' hair must be secured in a bun or ponytail for all classes. A bun (with hairnet and bobby pins or snood) is required for ballet. No jewelry is allowed. Students not dressed and/or groomed appropriately may be asked to observe class.

Food and Drink No candy, gum, or soft drinks are allowed in the studios. Water is allowed and students may bring a bottle of water to class.  Hydration is important - especially when a dancer has several hours of instruction and/or rehearsal back-to-back on the same day.

Inclement Weather If classes are cancelled due to weather a message will be posted on the LPAA phone line two hours prior to the first class. Please call the school or check this website for updates if weather is bad.  Classes missed because of weather closures may be made up in accordance with our make-up policy.  Classes will not be rescheduled and refunds cannot be offered.

Recital An annual recital will be presented in June for all classes ages 4 & up (except for Adult classes). Registration assumes participation in Recital as well as responsibility for Costume and Production Fees. The Academy office must be notified in writing prior to November 1st of any student who does not wish to participate in the recital.

Class Placement/Advancement The LPAA faculty meets regularly to discuss the students’ progress and placement. Placement is highly individual and the factors that go into the decision are complex. Students will be constantly evaluated throughout the season on their mastery of skills/technique specific to each level in our curriculum. The first three weeks are used as assessment weeks to make sure each child is in the proper class and level where they will benefit the most. If during those first three weeks a teacher feels that a student needs to be moved a request will be made. All decisions are made with your child’s best interest in mind. Advancement in our Student Division is based on mastery of skills/technique within each level (most students will spend 1-2 years in each level). Advancement in our Early Childhood Division and Open Division is age based. Please see the school’s director if you have questions or concerns about your child’s placement.
